Dr. Yvonne C. Hines hails from Harlem, NY, and Brooklyn, NY. She matriculated at Cardinal Spellman HS, Bronx, NY, completing high school in 1969. She graduated with honors from Adelphi University, Garden City, LI., NY in 1972 after 3 years with a BA degree in Biology Pre-Med., Cum Laude. She then graduated from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in the class of 1976. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (Beth Israel) in 1980. She then trained in Dermatology at Roger Williams Medical Center (Brown University) in Providence, Rhode Island, becoming board certified in Dermatology in 1983. She last trained as a fellow in Dermatopathology (the science of reading pathology specimens taken from the skin) at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center/ College of Medicine and became board certified in Dermatopathology in 1984. Dr. Hines, with her knowledge of Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Dermatopathology has been in private practice for over 38 years, and a physician for over 45 years, serving the states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Dr. Hines serves as a role model to students who wish to pursue a career in the healthcare field. She was recognized as being the top dermatologist in the specialty field of Dermatology in 2021 by the Attleboro Sun Chronicle newspaper. It has a circulation of 10,400 daily, serving Attleboro, North Attleboro, and 8 adjacent cities and towns. She was awarded in 2021 by Mayor Paul Heroux of Attleboro, MA., the Trailblazer award for achieving success as an African American female physician.
